The
winter weather is finally here. Cancellation of school takes place only
during extraordinary circumstances such as extreme weather, equipment failure
or public crisis. School will not be cancelled unless a significant safety risk
has been created by unusual circumstances. KSEN will announce school closings
& bus route changes. If you do not hear that Sunburst School is closed, we
will be having school. If they do not mention Sunburst bus routes, then busses
will be running. All parents are required to complete an Emergency
Information card at the beginning of the year which we keep on file. If
anything has changed, please notify the office ASAP. In addition, please make
sure children are dressed appropriately for the extreme weather conditions that
occur this time of year. Lastly, please continue to notify the office when
your child will be absent from school.
When
we return to school in January, there will be three BBB games – Thurs., Jan. 8th
in Shelby beginning at 4:30 p.m. The bus
will depart at 3:15 p.m.; Fri., Jan. 9th at home against DLS
beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Sat., Jan. 10th in Chester against CJI beginning
at 10:00 a.m. The bus will depart at
8:00 a.m.
School
will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 19th for the
Christmas Holiday. School will resume on
Monday, January 5, 2009! There will be NO school Monday, January 19th
in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
If
you have used printer cartridges or old cell phones at home, please send them
in to the Elementary Office. We send
them in to a recycling center for $$.
The proceeds go into the Student Activity Account, which we use for
various student activities & incentives.

– Albertson’s Community Partners: Our FCCLA needs your help to continue earning
funds. Even if you have linked your
Preferred Savings Card to our FCCLA organization in the past, you need to
re-link your card number in order for them to continue earning funds. Link (or re-link) your Albertson’s Preferred
